Know when a Shopify webhook dies, before the orders stop
A Shopify Trigger only runs when Shopify delivers the webhook. After repeated failed deliveries Shopify deletes the subscription, and a switched-off workflow fails every delivery. Neither shows up as an error in n8n. This free workflow checks both every 3 hours and emails you the moment something breaks.
Catches silent failures
Insurance, not savings: it tells you when a Shopify webhook stops working, before orders go missing.
Rather have it set up for you?
$199 per workflow: I install and test it on your store, and the template, Pro version included, comes free with the setup.
What it does
- Compares Shopify's webhook subscriptions with the topics you expect (orders/create, orders/paid, …)
- Calls each n8n webhook URL with a harmless GET that never runs your workflow, to see whether the workflow behind it is active
- Flags duplicate subscriptions that make a workflow run twice per order
- Emails you only when something breaks or recovers, with what to do
- Alerts you if the check itself fails
Two layers
This check tells you within hours that a webhook is gone. The free Missed Orders Check finds the orders that slipped through while it was. Together nothing goes unnoticed.
Needs n8n (self-hosted or Cloud), any Shopify plan, and an SMTP mailbox. Uses the same Shopify app as your trigger, no extra scopes. About 240 executions a month (adjustable).
